Ottawa’s Musical Mayor City Fidelia Launches the 'College Dropout Grant' Along with New Single “College Dropout”

[19th August 2021] - Today, City Fidelia returns with his new single “College Dropout'' off his upcoming debut Album “Painkiller” produced by Khamali Jordan. This record  addresses the negative stigma that is often accompanied with dropping out of school in an effort to overcome societal standards and remaining steadfast in your beliefs. As part of his efforts to provide support City is launching a “College Dropout Grant” created to address the reality that the educational system can often fail BIPOC youth.

When speaking on the inspiration behind the record City Fidelia tells us: “The song was inspired by a time where I was depressed about the fact that I dropped out of university. I felt like I let my parents and myself down. I also went through a break up and thought that the reasoning behind it was because I was living an unstable life. However, the song celebrates the fact that I found my way through life without a specific institution. It also emphasizes that individuals need to be a student in life in order to reach their ultimate goals.”.-  City Fidelia
