NEW LABEL PARTNERSHIP FORMED BETWEEN CADENCE MUSIC GROUP AND PUBLIC RECORDS


Toronto-based R&B, Rap and Soul label Public Records and the Cadence Music Group are pleased to announce they have formed a label partnership.This partnership is a perfect fit for both parties. It will enable Public to discover talent through their connections in the community while using Cadence’s infrastructure and resources to help accelerate artists’ careers in Canada and across the globe.

Public Records is run by music industry veteran Gavin Sheppard who has worked with a diverse range of talent such as Jessie Reyez, Amaal, Pilla B and many more. Besides Sheppard, the Public Records’ team consists of Trung Hoang (Creative Director) Jamal Vickers (Marketing Manager) and Maria Giuliana (Communications Manager). Through their history of boots on the ground support for Canadian creatives, they have earned a high level of trust within the national arts community. Their mission is to collaborate with artists in a fair and empowering manner. Public’s expertise lies in relationship building, artist development, strategy, marketing and making unique partnerships across labels, corporations, NGO’s and into communities.

Kicking off the partnership will be Public Records’ most recent signing, Toronto R&B singer Mighloe. Her new song “Don’t Call Me” released this past Friday received early support from streaming partners and earned playlist spots on Spotify's New Music Friday Canada, Outliers, Mood Ring, the cover of RNB Radar and Apple Music's Best New Songs, Breaking R&B and more. Public is also excited to announce an official partnership with renowned Ottawa based artist City Fidelia and his next release coming this spring. A new series of singles curated by the label called “Public Goods” is also being announced. The first installment will kick off with the single, “Magic” by international recording artist Nonso Amadi and homegrown R&B songstress Tasha Angela. Entering the realm of distribution, Public is gearing up with upcoming releases from Juno Award winners Naturally Born Strangers, multiple Indigenous Awards and MTV VMA award winner Drezus as well as relative newcomers rapper/singer Kastilla, rapper Jordan Fall and British Columbia based singer TRS.
